SKAPOCALYPSE NOW!
Daskhiki Clout Records
| released 1992
Hopeless Records
| re-released 1998

One year after Mustard Plug formed in 1991, they released a small number of demo tapes called Skapocalypse Now! on singer Dave Kirchgessner's own Dashiki Clout label. It was recorded while the group was still learning how to write, sing & play their instruments. But in the year since they started, Mustard Plug's popularity had grown so much in the Midwest, the tapes sold out within 3 months and were never seen again.

In 1998, after requests for the tape grew, Hopeless Records re-released Skapocalypse Now! on CD for mail order, dirct-to-store and concert sales only. Along with the original songs, other live and studio bonus tracks were added. Skapocalypse Now! Showcases the roots of Mustard Plug as well as their natural ability to create fun, catchy songs. The sound is more 2-Tone Ska and less punk.

Track Listing: Brain on Ska | Alone | Summertime | Sweet Potato | We Want the Mustard | To Be | Kill The Governor | Simon Says | Butcher's Mop | 7-11 Man (CD RE-RELEASE ONLY) Thigh High Nylons (alternative take) | Escape (Skapocalypse Now! reject) | more live bonus tracks

BIG DADDY MULTITUDE
Moon Ska / Daskhiki Clout Records | released 1993
Hopeless Records | re-released 2001

Mustard Plug's first official CD, Big Daddy Multitude was released well before ska became a household word, but after Mustard Plug had spawned a large Midwest following. Again originally released on Dashiki Clout Records, it was soon picked up by ska powerhouse Moon Ska Records. With Moon's distribution, Mustard Plug found an international audience ready for Ska to explode. Soon after the release of Big Daddy Multitude, the Plug began to tour nationally and amassed a moderately sized, yet solid fanbase.

The band had developed a better understanding of writing and playing since Skapocalypse Now! The songs were cohesive, catchy and great to skank to. Some tracks were released on compilations and quickly became "hits" in the still underground Ska scene. After the unfortunate demise of Moon Ska Records, this CD was re-released on Hopeless Records in May of 2001.

Track Listing: Skank By Numbers | Too Stoopid | Schoolboy | Mr. Smiley | Ball Park Skank | Thigh High Nylons | Dysfunktional | Alone | Summertime | Murder in Tulip City | Gum | I Made Love to a Martian | Brain on Ska | Insomnia | Average Guy | Grow Up

EVILDOERS BEWARE
Hopeless Records | released 1997

By 1997, Mustard Plug had become road warriors. Constant touring had developed chops and pure musical ability. By now the bands' fans numbered in the tens of thousands and the mainstream had finally caught on to the Ska sound. But Mustard Plug didn't move to Los Angeles and sell the van. Instead they enlisted the production skills of Punk legends Bill Stevenson & Stephen Egerton of All & the Descendents. Then they scored an independent recording contract with punk label, Hopeless Records.

Evildoers Beware's record sales tripled that of Big Daddy Multitude within the first year alone. Mustard Plug began touring internationally now. And record sales kept improving. To date, nearly 90,000 Evildoers Beware records have sold - not too bad for being on an independent label, and getting no radio or MTV play!

Musically, Mustard Plug now knew what they were doing. They had steadily developed their Punk side to match their Ska side. The songs demonstrated the originality of the group and the sound they had developed. The Beer (Song) continues to be one of the biggest ska anthems ever.

Track Listing: Box | Suburban Homesick Blues | Never Be | You | Mendoza | Go | Jerry | Not Again | Miss Michigan | Sadie May | Dressed Up | Beer (Song)

PRAY FOR MOJO
Hopeless Records | released 1999

Pray For Mojo was released at about the same time the Ska scene was losing steam. The trendy people who had embraced Ska as "the new big thing" were now embracing "the next big thing." Many bands broke up. Local Ska bands changed to local Emo bands. Audiences at shows dwindled and record sales slipped. But Mustard Plug continued on track. Pray For Mojo shows just how far Mustard Plug had come. PFM contains superior song writing, strong vocals and musicianship and excellent production from the Stevenson/Egerton team.

The album still contained the obligatory MP humor, but also showcased a maturity that had slowly developed over the course of 9 years. Mustard Plug had outlived the ska backlash. They pushed the Ska envelope and still retained their massive following.

Track Listing: Send You Back | Not Giving In | Someday, Right Now | Everything Girl | Away From Here | Throw a Bomb | Lolita | Mend Your Ways | So Far To Go | Time Will Come | Yesterday | We're Gunna Take On the World

YELLOW #5
Hopeless Records | released 2002

Very few ska bands remain. But through scarcity, ska's popularity begins to climb again. The scene begins to look like the bourgening ska community of the early 90's. After nearly breaking up themselves, Mustard Plug remembers why they started playing in the first place - for FUN. They return with even more gusto, cranking out 11 well-crafted, energetic anthems that eventually become Yellow #5.

This time Mustard Plug decides they are ready to produce themselves. The band also takes over the artwork, bio-writing and ad designing duties. Why does a band do all these things? They LOVE what they do. And it shows through the music.

This is music that makes you smile. Which isn't exactly easy to find nowadays.

Track Listing: Not Enough | Get It Goin' On | The Park | You Want It, We Got It | Already Gone | Safe | Just A Minute | No One But Myself | Your Secret | In Your Face | Sorry Now

IN BLACK AND WHITE
Hopeless Records | released 2007

Ska is back! After 5 years spent rejuvenating the Ska scene, Mustard Plug hits them where it hurts with a powerful new release. A bit more mature, but keeping on the Mustard Plug track, In Black and White features some of the best songs the band has ever written.

Back with the help of Bill Stevenson and the Blasting Room crew, this album cuts through the murky and generic "punk" music of today like a razor blade to the chest of Sid Vicious. Featuring uber catchy melodies, locomotive rhythm and at times raw angst, In Black and White runs the gamut of a genre on the rise again.

Track Listing: Who Benefits? | Over the Edge | Hit Me! Hit Me! | Time To Wake Up | Something New | You Can't Go Back | Life is Too Short | Copasetic | On and On | Tell Me | Puddle of Blood | Real Rat Bastard | What You Say
